How to color wing cases

What you need to color the wing case.
A fine point tweezers.
A correction pen, when coating the backside of the wing case with the white correction pen, it's easy to make light area and spots on the wing case.
Some waterproof marker in color to match the hatch, to make light area and spots use the same color as the backgraund or a colorless blender Prismacolor PM121.
Thin Sofy Body to cover the wing case.
Make a mix of thick Soft Boby and water 1:10 in a small container with a big lid, like a 35mm film container, just make a small amount. let's say 5 mm in the bottom of the film container.

From left to right
When cover the backside of the wing case with the correction pen, make a little pond on a piece of paper and use the tip of the correction pen as a paintbrush

A transparent stonefly wing case with the yellow color from the template. The backside covered with correction pen. The front covered with dark umber PM61. The front small spot of the dark umber is removed with a colorless blender PM121 or the same color as use on the template. Small dark umber spot have been add in the light spot.

From left to right
A transparent Heptagenia wing case with the yellow color from the template. On the Heptagenia wing case only "head part" on the backside is coverd with correction pen. The front is coverd with light tan PM95 whit dark umber inside PM61 the light spot. Front is coverd with dark umber PM61 light spot made with the colorless blender PM121
